OMG SAMSUNG AND AMAZON YOU HAVE TEAMED UP TO AMAZE ME. i am now even happier having come back to review this tv and seeing i saved hundreds by buying when i did. i am a samsung dude. they have ahd me as a loyal and happy customer since an old flip phone i owned 10 or so years ago. it was well made and pretty. SAMSUNG YOU MAKE GREAT PRODUCTS WELL, unlike lets say GM, motorolla, and too many other businesses to name, that make garbage, and subsist on lies and bail outs, samsung you are amazing and i love you. the only con of this tv, and really its on you for not doing ur research, the screen is shiny. this has pros and cons, basically, dont buy this for a bright room, its not even a con, but some ppl complained so i thought id enlighten you, its ur fault for not doing ur research. other than that perfect, and exceeds all my expectations. we bought our fisrt lcd from samsung because everyone was already saying samsungs are great, and based on that old ass cellphone i was willing to take the plunge. when we bought this new tv there was no question it would be a samsung. it is really such a beautiful tv. do yourself a favor and buy a samsung, seriously, the rest are garbage, dont believbe their lies, read reviews. now on to amazon. I've owned this television for a little over a year. I could not be more happy with the quality of the picture and sound. About a week ago, it started a very odd flickering (like an old movie projector) which grew progressively worse. I hopped online because usually if a product has a known defect, there are complaints all over the internet. However, it seemed my problem was unusual because I found almost nothing. The television was one month out of warranty, so with little hope I called Samsung customer service. To my surprise, they extended my warranty for three months and scheduled a service call within two days. The repair crew showed up, swapped out some circuit boards, and the television is beautiful once more. Shocked and pleasantly surprised at the level of service. -- Great Samsung customer service

After 60 days in home viewing I can honestly say that Samsung LN55B650 is an outstanding LCD HDTV. I did compare to this years LN55C650 and really did not notice any difference in picture quality. I did debate over LED backlit, 3D ready & such but always came back to the B650. The red touch of color does standout but it grew on me. Overall, no complains. I am very happy with my purchase.

I painfully reviewed several lcd tv's (including LED) on price, contrast ratio, inputs, size, and reputation from a few websites and going to stores to see the tv's in person. Kept finding myself returning to the same 2 brands...samsung and LG. The final choice was made based on my components. I do not own a Blu-ray (yet..hahhaha) or any other high end device that require HDMI. My components are about 5-6 yrs old and work fine, but lack HDMI inputs. All 2010 and late 2009 LCD/LED models have HDMI only, which would mean a component upgrade also. The B650 has the best of all worlds with HDMI and component and composite inputs for all of us who do not yet have the latest and greatest of electronics. DVD's look awesome by the way...can't wait to get a blu-ray. I also own a 40-inch samsung lcd with 60hz and 1080p, and with the HD package from my satelite provider there is a distinct difference in clarity b/w them.
Family and friends will be awe-inspired with the picture. The picture is literally out of the box, without adjustments. Currently, I am trying to persuade my dad to buy one in order to replace his 11 yr old box-monster 4:3 tv which is dying a slow death. Extremely pleased with my purchase. I hope to get more than 6 yrs out of this one than my lcd Hitachi.
And 1 more thing...purchased the tv through amazon.com, not another on-line retailer. I was highly skeptical of buying something so large and expensive online. Checkout was extra secure with my credit card and shipping was well coordinated and on-time. Setup was a easy out of the box. I looked into calibration online for this tv just for a little tweaking, but everything was a bit costly. -- Best tv for the money

I'm very happy with the purchase of the 32" Samsung. I would have prefered to purchase a bigger TV but LED's don't come in 37" size so I had to chose between the 32" or getting rid of my cabinet which I'm not ready to do. I got it in time to watch the Winter Olympics and enjoyed the color and detail of the picture. I rely on others for TV reviews as I don't pay too much attention or watch too many sports but the reviews were accurate that it's an excellent TV. -- Good Purchase

THE SAMSUNG UN32B6000 IS A GREAT ADDITION TO MY HOME. I HAVE FOUND THE PICTURE COLOR & CLARITY EXCEPTIONAL. I AM VERY HAPPY THAT I WAITED FOR THE LED TO BE AVAILABLE WITH THE 32 INCH SCREEN. This tv fits particular needs in terms of size and expectations. It fits a cabinet in my bedroom. It will serve my tv tech needs for years. The downside of the latter capability is dealing with options, capabilities and questions I often don't know how to answer. To minimize frustrations, get help setting it up (including quick start). -- Great Product

I was a little bit apprehensive as I had never ordered anything this large over the internet before and was concerned about possible shipping damage. The Amazon delivery was fast (as usual) and the TV was well packed and supported, so I had no damage problems to worry with. The set-up proceedure was well described in the Samsung manual and was easy to follow. This is not insignificant as you are actually setting up a computer and the old days where you just plug it in to cable and power and turn it on are definately gone. I did take the time to read other customer reviews both good and bad, and based on comments in these, I knew a little beforehand how I wanted to set the picture up. I got this TV for the bedroom and sat it on a stand, so no problems with a wall mounting, but unless you are well versed in setting up a HDTV, you should allow at least an hour to go through the setup. It's not that difficult, but you will be happier with the results if you do it right the first time. My former son-in-law didn't take the time to set up properly and watched his set for over a year until he realized he wasn't getting High Def, only standard definition (true story)!! Anyway, we are very happy with the results. -- Quick delivery, easy setup

I got the Samsung UN32B6000 tv because of size and weight issues with the location for installation. After looking at reviews by other buyers on multiple web sites for this and other 32" LED tvs (of which there are not many), I chose the Samsung and am extremely pleased. I purchased it from Amazon because of a great price and free delivery.

The setup was quite easy, and the picture is amazing. HD output is fantastic, and analog TV sources are much better than I expected. Upconverted DVD content is really good on this set. As with most flat panel televisions, the sound is only adequate. The system does come with a clear voice setting for the sound and that has helped me hear dialog in TV show, DVDs and Blu-Ray movies. Best of all, the clear voice setting allows me to watch sporting events at a much lower volume than my old, analog tv , and that keeps my wife happy.

Installation was quite easy, but buyers should be aware that all connections on the set were quite recessed. I used a low profile wall mount and as a result, adding cables after the initial installation is quite a challenge. Careful pre-installation planning of cable requirements is a must. There are a lot of connections on the set (4 x HDMI, one of which is for an HDMI to DVI cable for use with most HD cable boxes, coax for cable in, 2 USB, ethernet, component and digital audio and a PC connection if you don't have HDMI output on your PC.)

I use a Samsung BD1590 Blu-Ray player, and the TV and Blu-Ray player are nicely integrated. Turn on the BD player and it automatically turns on the TV and switches input to the proper HDMI input on the TV. It also optimizes the link for best output. Both TV and BD player controllers are consistent in layout and the one from the BD player controls key TV functions like volume, source, channel. Neither controller is a universal controller and as such, you must use the one provided with your cable box to change channels for regular TV viewing.

Overall, I am quite pleased with my choice of this TV. -- Great TV!

The thing that is truly remarkable about this TV is the absence of light. What I mean by this is; whenever the background is suppose to be black, or a character is wearing black, the led lights behind the TV go completely out. This all happens in milliseconds, but the outcome means that colors truly "pop", because of the contrast. One commercial that comes to mind is the Dairy Queen ad that has red lips on a black background. The only thing "lit up" in the scenes are the red lips. The rest of the tv is basically "turned off". -- The blackest blacks you'll ever see...

This is absolutely the best TV I've ever seen or owned. With the price now way above suggested retail, I guess it has achieved cult status now that Samsung stopped making them.

The picture is great. No need to spend $300 on some unnecessary calibration, just adjust the picture to your liking or better yet set the mode to "natural" or "standard". Add a bluray player and you may never go to the movie theater again.

Like many other happy UN55B8500 owners, I paid about $3000 and change for this set when it was on sale a number of months back. As much as I love this TV, I have to say it is not worth the $5900 pricetag they are now asking for. Nothing's perfect; for example the sound isn't that great if you don't connect it to better speakers and it's true what they say about the off-angle viewing: unless you set the piture to 'vivid' like they do in the showrooms which to me is too bright and cartoonish, the color looks washed out if you are viewing the TV from the side---more so than other inferior sets. The swivel stand helps make up for this flaw, but only so much.

But watching this TV dead center in front is addictive. The picture wil blow you away. All I'm saying is if you really want one do some more research because what they're asking for it now is ridculous. -- Official Space Helmet On, Captain Video!

We bought this TV via Amazon during Christmas. Now, after four months of ownership, I can say with full authority that we are glad we own it. I note with satisfaction that the price is currently more than we paid, indicating that the market has spoken in agreement with us.

I studied the market a long time before choosing the Samsung UN55B8500. I almost bought us a Panasonic Kuro plasma, based on expert opinions that the Kuro had the best picture. While that may be true, the image quality of the 8500 is close to the Kuro, and every other quality is far superior. The thin panel and clean design make this TV fit into our clean, modern living room with ease. I mounted it on a wall and hid the wires/cables inside the wall. It is beautiful! It is as flush with the wall as our original paintings which surround it. There are times when I leave an original photograph or set of photos running on a disk in our Oppo bluray player, letting this display become a work of art.

The diminishing contrast off center is much less than some reviews have made it seem. To us, it is a non-issue, and we watch this TV from all over the place, even far off center.

We have had no issues at all with anything.

The sound is good, and we use the TVs own speakers. I am an audiophile, and I have a very special, high-end sound system in the same room, but it is for music only, and it is not suited to TV hookup. I would be the first person to complain if the sound from the TV was not good enough for television viewing. Movie sound is okay too, but I really should connect something to fill it out. My point here is to let you know the sound is fine, not something to complain about.

The only thing I would have Samsung change is the glossiness of the frame. This design would look better with a flat or satin finish. The glossy viewing screen is not the problem. It is just the surrounding frame that accentuates every little wave in the finish when reflecting light off-axis. This is an obvious design flaw which a good design department should have stopped early in the process. I am surprised Samsung allows this the get out the door. It does not do justice to what is now inarguably one of the best consumer television sets made so far.

Five stars for a magnificent product, and by the way, buying it through Amazon was the best way to go. -- Glad we bought it

I purchased the 8500 from Amazon late last year. I really wanted to "cook" it before making any decision or review. Well, this set is truly the champ. I have no regrets although 3d capability would have been convenient. If you don't have one, get one now before they are hard to find. None of the 2010 models seem to match this one. -- Go and Get One!

I am a firm believer in buying quality, so I held out for the Samsung UN55B8500 for my first flat screen. The picture is the best I have ever seen. Every detail is top notch. The speakers are rear facing but are loud and clear, but I have not wall mounted it yet.

No regrets. Buy one while you can still find it. The 2010 models are out and starting to flood out the 2009 models in the distribution chain.
